Book Recommendation
The Walls Around Us: The Thinking Person's Guide to How a House Works by David Owen.
I've actually had this book for two years now, and it has sat on my shelves since I picked it up at a rummage sale. Now, I'm regretting that I didn't read it as soon as I bought it. What an interesting and informative book! I am really enjoying it.
He actually has another book out that I'm going to have to put on my list--unless, of course, I find it at a rummage sale too.

I did it backwards. I read Sheetrock and Shellac first and it was AWESOME! I've been meaning to review it for awhile and it has been sitting on my desk for weeks. I need to find the Walls Around Us.
While in Architecture school, we were once taught to STOP thinking of a chair as a CHAIR! Instead, we were taught to think of it as a "seating apparatus to: (A) read a novel in (B)eat a meal in, or (C)have a meaningful conversation in", or a myriad of other qualifiers.
I totally dig this premise. The "Living Room", per se, is dead, as I have always said. What I seek is the "Imagination Room"!!!!
That's a good idea, Michael! I like that way of thinking. :)
Jeannie--it's definitely worth trying to find it!
